FRIDAY NIGHT: The Meadowlands "Mr. Class & Quality" Inn, Lyndhurst, NJ, USA

"A Reunion ... of people who've never met"

O-R'ers began converging on "The Glass House" en masse late Friday afternoon. What the MQI couldn't provide in terms of spaciousness we made up for with exuberance and, rest assured, no one was overheard asking Isn't It Quiet And Cold? Many of the "first glimpse" moments were priceless. Hopefully some of the photographs do justice to the excitement and wonderment of the proceedings. It was, without a doubt, a one-for-the-books kind of Experience.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Greenwich Village, NYC

For many, Saturday began around noon with vegetarian cuisine at Caravan of Dreams in the East Village. The group then proceeded to St. Marks Place for CD shopping. The Edge Of Twilight drew nigh and the abridged jam session in Washington Square Park became a casualty for most folks as we migrated steadily towards The Heartland to spend a memorable evening.

SATURDAY NIGHT: The Heartland Brewery Midtown, NYC

One who would attempt to summarize the "Main Event" of GORGG '99 in a single paragraph would be Playing The Fool and doomed to failure, so please Think Of Me With Kindness. Let's just say it was everything it was cracked up to be, and more...

SUNDAY: The Meadowlands Quality Inn, Lyndhurst, NJ

The weather had turned inclement and the Central Park Jam session had to be cancelled. As a result, the majority of GORGGers who had spent the night at The Glass House (and a few who hadn't) foresook The House, The Street, The Room to spend a rainy afternoon together in the bar as most prepared to return home. A Cry For Everyone and real tears were shed as the inevitable Thank You's, fare-thee-well's and see-ya-next-year's were exchanged. And, just like that, an unforgettable weekend passed into the realm of fond Memories of Old Days.

"Friends
This is a song to thank you all
For being my good friends.
You only number just a few
But you ... are my good friends!"
 - by some obscure band no one's ever heard of...  :-)
